NSBE (National Society of Black Engineers)

• Mission: NSBE's mission is "to increase the number of culturally responsible Black Engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally and positively impact the community."
• Quick Facts: The National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) is a 501(C)(3) non-profit association that is owned and managed by its members. Founded in 1975, NSBE is one of the largest student-governed organizations in the country. It's comprised of 242 collegiate, 70 professional and 82 pre-college active chapters nationwide and overseas with more than 35,700 members. NSBE offers its members leadership training, professional development, mentoring opportunities, career placement services and more.

• Mission: Community focused on the support and education of people with disabilities both within the organization as well as the community.
• Quick Facts: Signed into law on July 26, 1990, The Americans with Disabilities Act is a wide-ranging federal legislation intended to make American Society more accessible to people with disabilities.

GLBT (Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender)

• Mission: An employee group of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual , Transgender, PFLAG and Supportive Qualcomm employees organized to provide awareness to employees, potential employees, customers and suppliers.
• Quick Facts: Group started in 1995, marched in first Pride parade July 1996, and helped to add Domestic Partner Benefits to employee benefits package.

PFLAG (Parents, Families, and Friends of Lesbians and Gays)

• Mission: PFLAG is Parents, Families & Friends of Lesbians & Gays. PFLAG's mission is to promote the health and well-being of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender persons, their families and friends through:
  • Support-to cope with an adverse society
  • Education-to enlighten an ill-informed public
  • Advocacy-to end discrimination and to secure equal civil rights
• Quick Facts: PFLAG is a national non-profit organization with over 200,000 members and supporters and over 500 affiliates in the United States. This vast grassroots network is cultivated, resourced, and serviced by the PFLAG national office, located in Washington, D.C., the national Board of Directors and 13 Regional Directors.

QCSHPE (Qualcomm Society of Hispanic and Professional Engineers)

• Mission: Promote Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) careers to Hispanic youth through community outreach and bridging companies/professionals to universities, colleges, and K-12 schools. We also provide career development and networking opportunities for QCSHPE and other diversity group professional members. We work very closely with the San Diego Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers Chapter.
  • QC management and Hispanic engineers bridging community to corporations, universities, colleges, K-12 schools, and other communities. The Qualcomm Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers.
• Quick Facts: Tax-Deductible Payroll Deduction Scholarships awarded every year, with 100% matching from Qualcomm. 100% proceeds go to the students.

• Mission: Sponsor and Support activities to foster employee engagement. This group focuses on mentoring and community outreach.
• Quick Facts: Facilitates Veterans Day and Memorial Day Ceremonies at Qualcomm. We continue to actively recruit veterans on an ongoing basis and provide resources to assist with their transitioning to civilian life.
